Stonechat
Saxicola rubicola
Sometimes, when you’re out and about with your camera, an opportunity just presents itself and you don’t have to do a great deal of work to get a nice picture. This was one of these occasions. It was the same with the Skylark, also on the Great Orme.
This was a very inquisitive Stonechat, flitting from gorge bush to gorse bush, begging me to take his picture.
The name Stonechat comes from the bird’s alarm call.
