Little Egret
Egretta garzetta
... Tall and white as a Communion candle, the egret is a bird made of light, thin enough to slip through the vanishing point of horizon, her neck the spout of an amphora, leg spindles, wings long-fingered hands, full when she spreads them. ...
Taken on a very enjoyable day at Connah’s Quay Nature Reserve, managed by the Deeside Naturalists’ Society.
I was there on this day from sunrise to sunset. I set up my low, home-made hide and laid on my belly with my ground-pod to watch over the estuary.
I almost lost my hide on this day, as described on my Grey Heron page. I also got pictures of Kingfisher.
