The image above-right was taken on a trip to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. I like this type of image as much as a detailed close-up. They say something more about the bird’s habitat and/or behaviour. I refer to them as ‘birdscapes’, although I’m sure there’s no such thing!

The other images here were taken at Lymm Dam in Lymm Village near Warrington. I often take my camera there for the day, wandering around the lake, hoping to spot Kingfisher, Treecreeper and others.

On this particular day, a number of Cormorant were stood posing on tree stumps overhanging the lake. They stayed in similar positions long enough for me to have had enough and leave them to it! Not something that happens often with bird photography.
