The Goldcrest is a shy little bird that I find difficult to photograph well. I would ideally try to get one or two images of a bird isolated from its background, but this is a real challenge with birds that are often skulking around in bushes and hedgerows. 

The two images above were taken on the Great Orme in Conwy. They’re my favourite images of the Goldcrest, as I feel they say something about the habitat and behaviour of the bird without being too distracting.

The images below were taken at Moore Nature Reserve. I’m not so happy with these, as I find the surroundings distracting.
