Gannet

All but one of these Gannet images were taken at Bempton Cliffs RSPB Reserve. They were all taken with the Canon EF 600mm F/4L lens, which I’d hired for the day (so no, I don’t own one unfortunately!).
The Gannets became the focus for me on that day, so the only other species I managed to photograph (not very well) was the Fulmar.
The last of these images (bottom right), was taken in Collingwood, when on a very memorable, three-week visit to New Zealand. We had parked by the bay to rest, when we saw the Gannet flying towards us. I quickly swapped to my 400mm lens – one of the few times I’d used it in New Zealand – and took a few pictures. We were lucky enough to see the Gannet diving into the bay for fish several times, but it was too far away for me to capture, sadly.
